Following this blog may be the greatest thing you have ever done
My friends and I were walking to Waltermart yesterday to buy ingredients for the pasta we were going to make for dinner. On the way, we passed by this man who was selling personalized keychains and cellphone accesories. We learned that he has been doing this for almost 40 years now! He also told us that we would not find any of the stuff he uses anywhere, not even in Divisoria, because he makes every letter/shape by hand on his own. One of my friends noticed that he did not have a chair to rest if he has no customers yet. He said that he works faster if he is standing and he can just sit on the ground whenever he is tired. He has already sold some of his work in Manila (where he was first based before he bought a house in Cavite).
He was very accommodating and amiable. May I also add that he is one of the most humble people I have met in my entire life. He does not have a single sign of vanity in his body. And he is very much dedicated to his business that even if his children can support them financially, he refuses to accept because he can still work for his own expenses.
He is 62 years old already and has six children, four of which have already finished college. His wife just stays at home to look after their two children who are still studying. My respect for this man was undeniable.
